Disabled students at Masaryk University 2013 - 2015

Masaryk University graduates are extremely successful on the job market. Their unemployment rate is extremely low: approximately 4,4% according to the latest survey. According to the results of regular surveys, half of all students find a job before finishing their studies. An 98% of all students find employment in their own field of study, thus demonstrating their own qualities as well as the high quality of their education. Students with Special Needs Masaryk University strives to provide students with sensory and other disabilities with full access to all accredited fields of study; in other words, providing equal opportunities for all. Study plans and materials are being modified to enable such students to fully engage in the education process and reach the same results as others. The proportion of students with special needs at the university corresponds to their numbers throughout the Czech Republic. In the autumn 2015 semester, Masaryk University registered a total of 504 persons (decrease of 10%) with the following disability types: 77 visually impaired persons (interannual increase of 1 %), 60 hearing impaired persons (increase of 4 %), 69 persons with limited mobility (decrease of 1 %), 161 persons with learning disabilities (increase of 39 %), 137 persons suffering from mental health problems and chronic somatic diseases (increase of 68 %).
