The Bohemian Forest, the Upper Palatine Forest and the Brdy Hills are very attractive for tourists. For hiking and cycling trips, you can also go the Plzeň area and to other places. Sit on the bike and ride. You can try International cycling routes, which lead through the Plzeň region including the long-distance Eurovelo 13 cycling trail, the so called Iron Curtain Trail, and the CT3, which leads from Prague via Plzeň to Regensburg and Munich. You will ride through beautiful countryside and river valleys, enjoy mild rises or straights, and beautiful nature in the border areas. Cyclists can also make use of comfortable services in the region. Cycle buses have started to serve cyclists, bicycles can also be transported smoothly by train. Every information centre can recommend bicycle routes and trips, where you can also find plenty of brochures and maps. Trips to lookout towers and to different viewpoints are becoming evermore popular. You can explore the peaks of the Bohemian Forest by bike. Even with your children you can smoothly reach the peak of Špičák Mountain on a bike. From the lookout tower, which has only been here since 2014, you can not only see the Bohemian Forest, but with clear visibility also the Alps. A beautiful view of the Bohemian Forest is offered from the lookout towers Poledník at Prášily, and Pancíř or Sedlo at Albrechtice. You should certainly not miss Čerchov, a stone lookout tower on the highest peak of the Upper Palatine Forest, which was built in 1905. Modern observation towers can also be found in the Tachov region, one of which is the 25-metre-high Havran observation tower, while another observation tower on Vysoká Mountain towers above Tachov.
